Rich Soul

Rich Soul

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Keep filling up your bank account your soul is still empty
Can you remember the last time you heard someone say "Thanks for helping?"
I bet you can't because all you focus on is yourself and a piece of paper
You rather count dollars than help out the less fortunate & be considered a life saver
Money is important, I can totally agree
But when people say money is everything? Are you f*****g kidding me?!
Once you kick the bucket all that money isn't coming with you
And it can't be used to wipe away those tears when you die like a tissue
You impact someones life, you stay with them forever
A lot of people are waiting to be helped and you can pull the lever
You can enter their lives, and change a person from bad to good
You can talk to those kids who feel as if they're misunderstood
You are capable of helping out so many people, creating so many smiles
Don't be afraid to go forth and reach that extra mile
Help the people in need
Don't feed your greed
A rich soul is worth more than a rich man
Never walk past someone who's on there knees needing help to stand
And if you have a lot of money, why not donate to the poor?
Who do you think needs that money more?
Give back and you will receive
A richer soul that doesn't depend on greed.
