Soul Eater

Soul Eater

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Hair as black as night
A voice that haunts your ears
Eyes that pierce through light
And a face that resembles fears

Her soul, bruised and dark
She can control both the day and night
She will haunt you until you bear her mark
You better put up a fight if you want to see tomorrows light

No one knows the story of her past
And no one has survived her wicked attacks
Once you're caught, you will not last
She grabs you by the neck, and doesn't let go until it snaps

She will follow you until the end
So surrender now and give it up
Don't try to tame the beast and make amends
Because once she grabs you, you're out of luck

She lies by the lake awaiting her prey
Many have entered but none have left
And it doesn't matter if its night or day
She always haunts for souls, she never rests

She awaits a challenge, for someone to defeat the beast
But are you willing to risk it all
Or will you become another feast
Will you rise to the challenge or will you fall

The lake is only a few steps ahead
What are you gonna do
Because once she spots you, you're already dead
You'll become another soul in her warm bloody stew

"unable to move or breath, you're fucked"

I don't know why, but the swear word really feels out of place.

That's my only complaint. If it was made a little shorter I could see this being the opening text of a foreboding horror film. :)

Over all I like it. Good work!
