Lest We Forget Pt.2A Poem by JoeyLlisoThe longing, the wishing is asinine.
Past tense leaves me listless.
Reminiscing on visions that Whisked by--I attest, I am witness. Your perfume's exquisite yet Lately it pains to even catch wiffs. If the cars that drive by happen To not have you in them, Then I wait for the next, Demanding distance diminished. You came through my life Like Harry scoring in Quidditch. You left me some pointers, Azimuths and directions. My blanket at home still reminds Me that when this writing hits home, I'll have proved worth in instants. That's all we have, 'cause the longing, The wishes leave scars that will heal: Scars whose persistence Is comprised of resistance And never, ever heel to acquittance.
