The Ballad of Naked Jamie

This is a poem that came out of a joke between my best friend and I.

 

She comes from my past, our friendship will always last.

She moved many miles away, her memory finds me prey.

She floats from dream to dream, her creamy skin seems to gleam.

No matter how normal or obscene, Jamie’s nudity is always to be seen.

Author's Note

So, I should explain a little here. This is a joke between my best friend Jamie and I. A few months back, I had this crazy dream. Everywhere I went in the dream, Jamie would end up walking by totally naked. It was no big deal in the dream, no one was phased by it. So, we were joking around and she told me I should write about the dream... use it as inspiration... so I did. :)

You would have to know us and understand our 10 year friendship to truely get the humor. but think a nice poem came out of it. :)

My honey and I were talking last night about how confident Jamie are and how impressive that is. So it wouldn't surprise me if she did do that. (referencing to Jamie's comment)

Shawna, here, had a dream where she was living her life, day to day, but for some reason I kept walking through each scene completely naked like it was the most natural thing in the world. You'd probably have to know us and our friendship of 10 years to fully get it but it's hilarious nonetheless.

Shawna, it is an honor and privilege to haunt your dreams naked.
