A broken heart

A broken heart

A Poem by Joel Armstrong

 Do you know,
What it feels like ,to have
Thine heart ,broken
Into many a fragment

Not by love, spite or hatred,
But by sheer ignorance of the mind.
The things that truly matter,
Severed.

To have your heart bleed ,with
Empty love
To be forgotten,
Like a casual memory.
A ludicrous query,
Wouldn’t you say?
For its answer is rather lucid.
The mere figment of my imagination,
that you are, a heartless creature
Shall never bear the pain,
Of a broken heart.
But for now,
sardonically
You alone remember me

Deep write here. as for broken heart...i know both of it you speak of. which one is worse? I'll leave it to the individual to decide. neither one is a good experience. but as always, pain reminds me of this: do you know the one thing pain is good for? No? Simple, it lets you know, that you're still alive.

100 points.

Yes, I know what it feels like. A broken yet beautiful kind of pain. *nodding head* I like how you can point out each emotion so simply- yet meaningful. *smiles* (:

Well...Unlike most people's beliefs, heartbreak is not always caused by the end of a relationship, or one cheating the other....
There are many things out there, that can break one's heart

Love can create and destroy. It can make your spirit dance or sometimes leave your soul bruised!
Beautifully penned with honest tone!
Liked it very much!

Great effort, it speaks to your passion on the subject.

haven had a broken heart far more times than I need to remember, I think of love poems as
the hard-plastic wrapping of the sliced cheese I purchased. What I mean is that nothing about it
is ever instantaneous. It is because pain and broken hearts take time "to be forgotten"/

I love this poem Joel. My only wish (and this is not at all criticism) is that those who concentrate
on writing love poetry would force (hell, even zap) new probabilities of destiny. Which is the same
as saying, I want it different than the next person. It's hard to write love poetry Joel. Because the
force of energy it takes to do it,( since love poetry is a spiritual act of review and contemplation)
has far more memory in it than instantaneous occurrence. But you have don't it well ...

nicely written my friend...dana
