Rewinding

Rewinding

A Poem by JodieH

I feel like I'm drowning,
Beneath the water I'm grounding,

The noise in my ears,

The taste on my lips

The pressure in my head,

I'm slowly dreading

The time I will arise,

From the cold depths of the ocean side

Top of the cliff I'm standing,

Slowly breathing

The height does not phase me,

Nor does it encase me

Panic is gone,

My home is where I belong,

But first I wish

To go back to the sticks,

Sticks by a coffin

Where my loved ones lay

The crosses with their names

To say goodbye it pains

But one pain red raw,

To loose something you once had and now its gone

To never know what life holds,

I watch my self jump into the bitter waves,

And stay there for a few days,

Hang on,
My life is rewinding,
Back up I fly to this high cliff side,

Back home I am, safe and sound,
I watch in reverse of the things I have learnt,
For time is gone, and never repeated like a song.

I feel the breeze and I look around,
There is my family all happy and proud!
