Poetry for Poetry's SakeA Poem by Joby BottomsA poem celebrating poetry.I couldn't quite find the time, to play with words and make them rhyme. So instead I wrote some stuff, that rhymed and rhymed til I'd had enough.
A little verse with playful things, to make the reader rhyme and sing. We all get caught in serious verse, when sometimes a Limerick will quench the thirst.
I wrote a little two-line rhyme, a couple of stanzas long, it didn't have a ringing chime, so I alternated the song.
Then I thought that it would be nice to write a sonnet of sorts to change my style, and realised it might take me awhile, throughout the day and possibly the night. So thanks Giacomo da Lentini for giving me the chance to write your way, it didn't take long, I did it today, now let's share a bottle of Lambrini! To complete the sonnnet I now need C, And find some words that will give me a D, I will follow the pattern, ending E, And now it's time to rhyme with the first C, I'm nearly there, just wait and repeat D, This is the last line, must rhyme with the E.
So after writing poetry, just for the hell of it, I've become tired, so will sleep for a bit. © 2013 Joby BottomsAuthor's Note
