Is It Worth The Trouble?

Is It Worth The Trouble?

A Story by Joseph Greene
"

I'm not weird, I'm just not stupid.

"
Is seclusion that bad?
Why does our society look at the people that are interested in "nerd culture" as weird?
Why is it weird if a person doesn't want to leave the house everyday just for the sake of being outside?
Honestly, just think about it.
What do people in this day and age do when they decide to congregate i a area?
Let's say a group of 3 or 4 average teenagers decide to loiter at the local ball park.
There's nothing exciting going on at the ball park.
There's little to no people there, and the ones who are there are moms and dads Spending time with there kids.
On top of that, what do you think those same teenagers will be doing?
I'll save you the trouble and give you a quick play-by-play.
90% of the time they will either be on their phones checking out the latest post from people they could give a f**k about or sitting in complete silence.
5% of the time is conversation, but its nothing more than small talk.
They aren't having deep thought provoking conversations about the current state of things or having those "special" type of coversations.
You know, the type of conversations were you talk for hours about everything under the sun.
The conversations that engage you from start to finish.
The kind of conversations that leave you as a different person in the end.
Those type of conversations don't transpire nowadays.
Finally the last 5% is literally just staring at random s**t.
Wheather it be cars, grass, other people, insects or even the f*****g sky, expect to be staring at something for awhile.
That's why im confused as to why people look at "shut-ins" as the "weird" people of society.
No, everyone else is weird to me.
I mean, you guess put in so much effort into meeting people, getting together at a random location, act like youre close friends but really you're
aquatances in eachothers presents, and do some of the most boring, mind numbing activities.
There's a whole world out there but you want to go to the mall for the hundreth time.
You could be traveling, climbing mountains, camping, road tripping or even doing something as simple as walking through woods.
Instead you all collect in a allready overpopulated area just to sit and gossip about "who gives a s**t".
I personally can't live like that.
Why would i waste time and energy to hang with you in the same place, doing the same stuff, seeing the same things and talkng about the same s**t we've been talking about for years.
Honestly that's what weird.
It's weird that society is comfortable  with that way of living, if you could even call that living.
So yeah go ahead and call me weird.
While you're outside "living" i'll be in my room, continuing to live under the rock that shelters me from the nonsensical ideals of living our society has implamented in to our way of thinking.

I can relate to you a little bit on this. It's so sad that everyone has to judge people, he's ugly! She's fat! It is so stupid to me. We are who we are and should be accepted. To be honest, I like to spend a lot of time by myself in my room too. People bring to many problems! That was nicely written!
