DREAMS

DREAMS

A Poem by JoJo Maxwell

Dreams leave the windows of the mind
Like falling panes of color,
Shimmering rays of light
On the sunset sky,
Descending into the nothing
Of forgetful memories lost to Soul
In a clouded shade of pale void.
Fleeting images of candlelight dinners,
Back alley meetings,
And lost loved ones imagined
From the passing corner of the eye.
Born of nothing,
Returned to the nothing center
Of the mind still waking.
Experiences struggling to cling to the final moments of life.
Fighting the foggy veil of empty shadows,
Never to return to the world of the conscious mind.
The final stanzas of thoughts so real,
Now only live as a glimmer,
A shadow of a past life
Only hinted at in the moments
Of waking time.
