UNTITLEDA Poem by Joel MarshallWhen someone new unexpectedly enters your life and it feels so good! You have me wonder how my heart ever stopped from bleeding.
How do you halt the sorrow of a crow's caw
from making me cry or stop the rain from
melting away my happiness?
The perfect blue lied within
the emptiness of my soul and
I couldn’t see anything but gray.
Your manliness crept deep within
my bones and the air I breathe is thick
with your masculine scent.
All because you had the ability
to show me your true self.
I met your strength at my
weakest moment and from that
I've learned all I need to know of you.
I see that to silence the crow
I need to reach my hand out for support
and not scream its name in vain.
The rain purifies the emotions
so that I can truly understand
the gift of you and that I held a strength
that you, yourself thought would
never be found in someone else.
My heart was empty from lovelorn
but when I met you it immediately filled
with the hope you leave in your wake.
Oh proud man, let us jump in feet first
and have nature drive this connection so
that we can understand how freedom feels
beneath us.
Let it be the one to rest our heads in solitude
and no longer have the tears control the wheel.
As long as we stay true to the path we create along the way
then yes, let freedom be our light
and our dreams guide every step of the way.
