Umbrella

Umbrella

A Poem by Joel Marshall
"

The unexpected kind of love. When you saw yourself as no good and then this person comes along and changes that. From my debut book of poetry BOY GONE CRAZY - The Written Voice: Vol. 1

"

Gray skies loom up high.

The scent of an impending
waterfall lingers in the air.
The wind cool with its
blow of ice.

The side that I walk on
is alone and unsettled.
The birds fly with no song.
A dog and walker
without their play.

Misery spills in a downpour.
My feet long to run
but my shoes are of concrete.
My drive controlled by
an unknown.

Lost has found its way.
Rain now wets me today.
My tears blend with its play.
It is still my debt to pay.
With no sight of a better way.

And when all was going
to melt to clay.
You took my hand
and covered me
with your umbrella.
