Untitled. Dec., 4th, 2012A Poem by JoJo Hallows
I lept a great height from your building so tall. You promised me flight but all I felt was the fall. Your wings shadowed over me.
We said we'd sail around the world for a year but the boat is still in the harbor. I believed your lies because they're prettier than the truth. Everyone says you break hearts like toys to say you had them all and I'm starting to think you have broken mine just because you can. My heart just doesn't understand how a love so deep could come from such a shallow man. Still, I managed drown. How do you leave a home built on a lie? There's no looking back with tears washing this moment in time from my eyes. What's a crippled man to do? They say I'll never walk again, so I'm crawling slowly away from you. Though love was lost I have myself to gain. © 2013 JoJo Hallows |
