Elle

Elle

A Poem by Jen

Fragile

Blond, a strike of white

Floppy, hair follicles at the tip

That slight hop, she posses somewhat in her step

Paws matching the color of her nose

Larger than life personality

Sweet, utterly sweet

As the soft petal pink collar she now appears to wear

Once thought out to be a boy, this theory certainly went dry

Fears, anxiety and troubles she endured were all travelers on the same road

That night, soundlessly sleeping

Those fears submerged

I knew

I knew the reasons I hadn't found my companion

I cradled her in my arms

Knowing she was safe once again

We would remain together, loyal to one another
