MY City

MY City

A Poem by Jen

I sit here

Realizing I'm in a lost world

One that I never belonged to

I wish to transverse to a solitary universe

A city

A city of art, of love

Tall skyscrapers tickle the clouds - also known as the birthmarks of the skies

Harmonic balances are the blend that breeds within its residents

The residents range from the all colors of the rainbow - some as tall as the those skyscrapers

Each one, vigilantly peering over the safety of its equals

I watch them as peering into a snow globe - in fascination

With a burning yearning of the desire to be within what is found in that globe

My city, my city of love and art

The imagery and symbolism is so beautiful in this.... I feel like I can really see the city you speak of.
