As I lay

As I lay

A Poem by James

Lately I lay awake at night
My mind wont stop thinking
I close my eyes and my heart starts racing
Everything becomes a blur

I lay awake for hours
My mind starts to push my body
I drink water, hot tea, nothing helps
But as the light rises I’m still awake

I sit up, I try to breathe
I walk around and shake my hands
TV, Music, games, nothing helps

And in the end I can’t remember a single thought
Except my mind and my body are hurting
As I lay awake life goes on without me

Well known feeling to anyone who cannot sleep. I cannot sleep two days ago , moon was too bright and my bed was full of crumbs.

I like how you describe each stage of trying to sleep. At past i did same things. I was also tried 10 times run around my house that don't help neither. This poem can show us sometimes we humans cannot help to our self.

I like it. I hope you will sleep well .
