Alone

Alone

A Poem by Jlyn

Alone; thru the valley I walked,

Down to the city, where I walk amongst shadows,

Meeting long faces,

Lost to the system;

I am searching out my own explanation on life.

I my hand are directions to seek the gal with a crystal ball,

She's been known to see deep within the soul.

Can She tell me what my future holds, and direct me back into the warmth of the sun?

The walk has been long, but my determination strong,

The wind is at my back.

I've got a feeling in my heart that I standing in the doorway of the literal unknown.

Yes, I can relate to the general themes of loneliness, independence, wandering, etc. and seeking guidance from someone perceived as wiser somehow. As a reader, I am left with many unanswered questions and a curiosity about how the speaker's journey has continued to unravel (as I see this poem was written quite a few years ago). Thank you for sharing. I wish you well in your adventures.

Very nice! I like the flow and the ending.

"I've got a feeling in my heart that I standing in the doorway of the literal unknown."

I had to reread it to absorb the meaning. It made me think. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Maybe its just the writing but I really love this poem! I like the flow and how the girl is searching for a fortune teller, but u describe it as , "the gal with a crystal ball". Well done! Also, it sounds as if a pirate is talking, that different but its okay. I'm ready to read more of ur work
