Dry Tears Dark EmotionsA Story by Johnny WestbrookThis is just a little short story that I came up with. Enjoy Written By: Johnny Lee Sitting back trying to figure when all went wrong with my soul, I bent over and placed my head on my fists as I knew that my heart was now tainted with no emotion. My eyes beginning to burn as if someone just through sand in them, my eyes began to dry instead of water. The air within my throat warmed and thickened, my eye lids shut, and I began viewing flashbacks as if I was watching a move on television. Seeing the very few times I use to smile and laugh, I tried to remember, but as I viewed all the good things, they erased from my mind as all of the horrible took over. Being jumped on by those who suppose to be considered family, being talked about by those who suppose to be considered family, and being laughed at by those who suppose to be considered family. In my mind now, I have no family, nor friends. All I have is myself and myself alone. I live for no one, I protect no one, I kill for no one... but only myself. Many times at night, I look up at the stars an wonder who am I. Back then I had a feeling in my chess as if my heart was becoming dark and cold… I guess that I was right. I lift my head as the lids over my eyes slowly risen. Brown eyes looking back at me from the mirror in front of me, but they were not mine, they were of a emotionless demon. “What’s wrong? You don’t recognize me?” a voice came from the mirror as a face came from out of hiding. “Yea, I recognize you.” I said as I took a breath and raised my chin. “You’re my dark side.” “Glad to see you never forgotten me,” He said then chuckled. “Going through bad times?” “Not anymore.” I said as a smirk grew. “So why are you hear?” I ask as I un-balled my fist and feel my pulse quickening. “Why else?” he paused. “Because your heart called for me.” He said as he watched me look down at the floor. “But…” he said as he got my attention again and made me look back up at him. “If your heart called me, that only because you made your heart call out to me.” “I did huh?” “Do you really think you need me at this time? You look as if you’re a pure demon yourself.” He said sadistically, making my anger rise to a whole new level as an invisible aura surrounded my body. “Wow what anger, you can probably challenge Satin himself right now if you wanted.” “No…” I said as my dark half’s eyes widened and flickered for a moment as my head lowered. “I want to challenge a few others before him.” I said as my anger caused my blood to boil and my forehead to sweat. “Or either find my place.” “And where is that?” “Anywhere that’s not here!” I shouted as my voice became as deep, rough, loud, and as strong as the devil’s himself. Trying to calm down enough to think, I quickly closed my eyes and raised my chin towards the ceiling as I felt a gust of wind blow past me in a room with no circulation. Not saying anything and only watching me from the mirror, my dark half knew a lot has happened since the last time we met. “Hey, open your eyes.” He commanded. Slowly opening my eyes and bringing them into line with his, he saw a change in them only after three minutes. “So, what do you plan on doing?” He asked as I began to seriously think. “Do you want me be by your side through everything?” He continued as I squinted my eyes at him. “Do you want me to take control over your body? It’s your call.” He said with a slight chuckle. “Tell me your plan.” He once again commanded. “My plan…” I continued to think. “I’m leaving.” I said in a low voice. “So your running away?” “I’m No Coward!” I shouted as I quickly stood up from my and balled up my left hand as the mirror cracked in-between his face. Turning and looking at the door that was once behind me, I began walking towards it as I hear my dark half talking to me. “You know where to find me.” He says as I place my right hand on the door know. “Yeah, I know.” I reply as I turn and open the door. “Don’t hesitate next time.” He said as I laugh and look back at him with a smirk. “Trust me, next time I call you, you’ll need ‘your’ dark half." I said as he squinted his eyes, gave me nod, and a smirk back. Closing the door as I step out, I plan to leave all the bad behind, and hope nothing follows. © 2008 Johnny WestbrookAuthor's Note
