Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Jeremy Litton
"

A poem about how we all have sinful hearts and are born with that. But that Christ died so that He would not longer see sin, but only the conquering of sin in us.

"

I am but a black stain

Born like this from birth

Life could be seen as vain

A chasm fills my soul

Endless, craving, slaying

A soul under no control

This chasm breaks my spirit

It beckons me to evil

Forever must I endure it?

Every selfish desire is found here

Every evil deed has its root here

Here in every man’s soul

There is no escape from the chasm

From pain, from death, from sin

It is mankind’s just punishment

For do I oppose the evil in the chasm?

Do I try to run from it?

Do I not do what it desires?

Am I not a slave to its grasp?

A mere w***e to its call?

I indeed deserve the worst death

But Love entered this world

Love came to destroy all evil

Love came to conquer the chasm

And that Love did conquer

With power and might

It destroyed the grasp

The grasp that holds all mans’ soul

Christ filled the great chasm

And now love reins forever! Amen!

I like this, it is very true. We all have sinfulness inside of us that we wish weren't there sometimes, but the only way to be cleansed is to have God's Love within us, thankfully He came so we would have that choice. A great message.

Good Job
