Never to Far

Never to Far

A Poem by Jeremy Litton
"

We all mess up, we all get to a place in life where we don't recognize the person in the mirror. But we are never to far to come back to who we used to be!

"

You sit and stare

At who you used to be

So far away

Only a mere memory

You hate who you are now

But you feel to gone

To ever change your new self

Too far to ever change this dark you

Your heart is broken

In pieces all over

You don’t try to pick it up

It is done forever

What happens next you don’t care

No one could hurt you more

You are numb, no feeling

Only hopelessness and emptiness

Darkness is all you can see

As you sit there and let it surround you

It wants to rule you

To make new regrets

But where there is dark

There must also be light

Light that blinds the dark

The dark must run from it

The darkness is full of weakness

But the light brings power, strength

It brings love, joy, peace, life

It fills you, and heals you

Wherever darkness can reach

How could light not reach there too?

Darkness is never too deep

Never too far

For the light to penetrate

And make all things new again

The light is Christ

You are never too far from His grace

You don’t want to hear this

All you want is to run

But Christ wants you to come

To show you how He heals

How He will take your heart

And make something beautiful

And show you His never ending love

To show you how much He cares

And just like Christ does

I will try to be like Him

And I will never leave, never turn

His arms want you to embrace Him

And my arms will be here always

To hold you and point you back

To the real source of love

Who is Christ, the Giver of Grace

I can relate to this feeling, having the darkness creep in and feel like it will take over, but God does give us strength to overcome this. I noticed that you say "Where this is darkness" I think you mean Where there is darkness. I also thought that the word reach might be better to use instead of stretch, but that's totally up to you. I love the message within this.
