The Picture Perfect Cage

Some people get so caught up in economic status that they miss out on some of life's wonderful things

Part of him was screaming,
Just dying to get out.
At first it was her walk, the way she carried herself about.

He watched her from a distance.
Wondering about her life.

He might keep her around
but he'd never make her a wife.

Cause she was never meant for keeps,
And he was bound to throw her away.
Cause she was just some damaged goods.
And that was never gonna change.

But she never shed a tear.
Somehow her heart remained intact.
And if you asked her bout regrets
She'd say "Don't ever look back,
I've always been free
and the world has been my stage.
And I'd rather live and die alone,
Than with a man in a picture perfect cage."

Thank you for the suggestion. I have trouble with endings a lot of times. Im going to play with it and hopefully find a better way of ending things. Thank you for reading it :)

I see a great poem. I'd have a suggestion... If i may... I see the world compared to a stage. And?? what i mean is maybe you could play around with that a little more before ending the poem. Anyways, it tells a bit sad story, with a great message. You must keep writing. :) 100 points.
