The State of California

A satirical poem. My first poem in years. Maybe could be a song?

“The State of California"

Summertime....
and my skin is peeling.
Sweat is beading off the tip of my nose.

The forest is burning, in every die-rection around me.
And my power just went out, due to the rolling blackouts.

Now waters’ in short supply. I only wash my clothes at night.
You can rarely bathe, cause if you do,
The water police might just come and find you ,
and tell you....
“you've reached your water limit.”

And now it's a simple known fact;
They lace our water with Prozac.
This might sound absurd,
But take my word:
“The state of California is whack.”

I can't believe what's happening out there. I hear there are big fines for using too much water and grass is being replaced with artificial stuff. Who would have imagined Cally would becomes like that. Even a superstorm won't be enough to replenish the water supplies.

I've always wanted to go there, but now, Cally doesn't look so appealing. Sucks. Sorry you have to go through that. :(

Hah, cali is a pretty cool place. It definitely has it's ups and downs. But the "up's" make it worth it. Anywho, thank you for reading and actually taking the time to comment on it

I wrote this great review and my computer froze. Such is the story of my life.

This real life struggle you have turned into something that can be laughed at. Instead of being angry, it's like, ok, what next? Bring it on. I laughed out loud about the Prozac in the water.

Well thank you very much. Love hearing what you think. She I'm not much of a poet but I've been struggling with a couple stories in the works and attempting to write poetry has really helped to reset and not feel so damned frustrated. Thank you for reading and reviewing. I feel honored :)
