Committed to the feels

Committed to the feels

A Poem by J Kriger
"

Why, in front of you, I act the way I do? Impaired am I? Afraid, or perhaps just shy?

"

Your eyes look down upon me with a childish glow

as if to speak your mind and say that I’m absurd.

Followed by a smile which onto me you graciously bestow

A type of warmth that only means the kindest word.

Your hand supports your head, a sign of disbelief or sheer amazement

as if to question if my sanity has parted ways

you sit there with your eyebrows curved, a blanket of content

continuously asking me if I’m okay

A question looms around my scattered thoughts

It's plush and fills my belly with the strangest of sensations

as if wings flutter in a frenzy of a 1000 moths

it turns my stomach with the angst of these relations

Why, in front of you, I act the way I do?

Impaired am I? Afraid, or perhaps just shy?

But I think in truth I’ve realized why?

the conclusion I kept coming to

is that I completely fell for you
