A Ray of Light

Falling. That is how I had awakened to see myself. I was not afraid, nor was I happy. There was really no emotion to go by with the situation. It was just so dark... I was alone, with no one by my side. My friends...where were they? I tried to look around, but all I saw were mere bubbles.

"Water...?" I thought to myself. 

Yes. Water. I was falling within water. But why? And how did I end up here? I remember... Yes. I remember playing my piano. A beautiful melody was playing in my ears. I closed my eyes... and I ended up here. Falling.

"Am I fading as well...?"

So many questions I could ask. None would be answered. I wanted to cry, but I could not. In a world full of nothing, how could I? I tried to reach out, but my arms could barely move.

"I'm... going to die here, aren't I?"

I closed my eyes, expecting my life to have a sudden end. At least I would die peacefully, with no pain.

"Nyn."

I opened my eyes. A voice...? Here?!

"Nyn," the voice called again.

"Yes...?" I answered.

"Do you truly think you will die here?"

"There is nothing but Darkness. I am falling into what seems like an Endless Abyss. What else can I assume...?"

"Where there is Darkness, there is also Light."

Just when The Voice had said that, a shimmer of Light had appeared before me. Where was that before? Had this Voice brought this Light to me? I tried reaching out towards the Light, and found that I could move my arms. I had stretched my entire body towards the Light. Closer, it became. The tears that could not form before and freely falling down my face.

"My friends..." I had said to The Voice. "Will I see them again?"

"Yes," The Voice answered.

"My home...?"

"You will, Nyn. Just reach towards the Light."

So I reached. My arm started to ache from the force.

"Nyn! Wake up!" another voice called out to me. This one I knew.

"...Sera?" I asked.

"Nyn..." a third voice had called out.

"Big Bro... Xain..." I said.

"Your friends are waiting for you," The Voice said. "Go to them."

All I could do was nod as the Light was getting closer to me. I could finally touch it as a gentle warmth enveloped my entire being. Before I had escaped the Darkness completely, I heard The Voice say one last thing to me.

"Be careful. The Darkness will try to take over you once again. You must fight it, Nyn. Conquer the Fears within your Heart. We will meet again, in due time."

I nodded, and vanished from sight. The Voice let out a gentle sigh. 

"...And so, the girl has awakened."

...Too much like Kingdom Hearts, isn't it? That's where the inspiration came from, if you noticed the Tags. It's just an idea of a Book I might start. Similar to that of the Kingdom Hearts series, yet different in it's own way. I'm still debating, but I guess you could say that this is a preview of what may come. :)
