Chapter 2

Zeke meets someone

I, Zeke White (when cold married serenity he took Braxton’s name) hate Middle School. First, someone kept tugging my waist length ponytail. Then, I tripped and fell going into my Algebra class and everyone laughed! I had to sit in the back corner on the left side by the window. So I daydreamed. When the teacher caught me, she hit my desk with a giant ruler! Lastly, some jock jerk started pelting small balls of paper towards my head.

 

Middle School sucks.

 

I sigh as I head toward the library to read my new book of the ‘You had what was coming’ series. I went and sat down by the ‘Math and Science’ section, so nobody would bother me.

 

A little ways into the book, I heard a rattle behind me and a few books falling. I turned to see what or who it was. A girl with short blonde hair with a bright green bow, rubbing her head.

 

“That hurt you stupid Biology book.” She says as she opens her eyes to see me.

 

I try not to stare but, as she blinks I can’t help but notice the forest green eyes that she has.

 

“Are you alright” I get up to pick up the books that fell over and place them back into their correct spot.

 

“Yeah, I’m ok,” She says as she pushes herself off the floor, carrying the Biology books she just claimed stupid, “Thanks for helping me pick up the books.” She said as she extended her hand towards me, “I’m Katia Wilson.”

 

I grasped her hand, “Zeke White”

 

“Do you mind if I sit with you?”

 

“Not at all,” I say going to the opposite end of the table I was sitting at and pulled out the chair for her and walking to my end and taking my seat.

 

“You are such a gentleman.” She said smiling at me.

 

“I was always taught to treat girls like queens.”

 

A few minutes in silence as we read until she asked, “Is that the new third book of the ‘You had what was coming series’?

 

“Yea you read the series?” I asked intrigued.

 

She looks at me with wide eyes and a big smile plastered on her face, “Yes! I own books one and two but I couldn't get three because they sold out so fast.” She said with a slight pout. Which I thought was cute.

 

The bell rung for lunch.

 

“Hey Zeke do you want to eat lunch with me so we can talk about the series?”

 

“Sure, I always like to talk to other fans."

About 10 minutes later, we had our lunch , at the table chatting, but then I felt some type of liquid run down my head. 

'The forecast didn't say rain.'

"Stay away from my girl!"

I turn to see the jerk from before .

"Alex, what are you doing?!" I heard Katia yelled as I got up and went to the restroom to dry my hair off. 

After a few minutes,most of the water is out but its still damp.I went back to the cafeteria and Katia was holding napkins out for me. 

"I'm so sorry Zeke, Alex only thinks I'm his girlfriend because I kissed him at summer camp." She said handing me napkins.

"Thanks, but anyway,whats is your last class?" 

"Biology, room 12." 

"Me too" I said smiling.

We walked to the class and when the teacher asked for our names, and turns out we are going to sit next to each other and be lab partners for the whole semester!

'Maybe Middle School isn't so bad.'
