Dark Road Nightmare

I start to smell the distinct smell of flowers around me. I open my eyes and see that I am in a meadow. Beautiful flowers of every, shape, size and color all around me. I see trees and shrubs and a beautiful waterfall in the distance. I pick a yellow flower and place it in my hair. I hear a rustle behind a bush, it was a small rabbit. I pick up the rabbit and play with it, before long other animals appear as well. Birds that landed from the sky, the small fish in the base of the waterfall, small creatures like ladybugs even, all come to play. I am having the time of my life when I hear another rustle behind me, thinking it was another animal that had come to play. I was dead wrong. I turn and see a long road stretching towards me and the animals, covering everything with darkness and despair. I turn back around to see the animals, but they were all gone. the road is stretching towards me more now, and I run. The beautiful trees and flowers have now all died or wilted to nothingness. I run faster and see the waterfall, its still normal. I sigh out of relief, but I am stopped short ,the waterfall that was full of fish, now had nothing bit skeletons in it, and the water isn't crystal blue it is blood red. I run to see if there was something to hold onto,but there wasn't. I stopped running when I reach the cliff, I panic. I turn to see the dark road coming for me faster turning everything that was once a beautiful paradise into a dark,vast, depressing wasteland. The road swept up on me and consumed me. I open my eyes not to see darkness or wilted trees, bloody waterfalls or dead fish, but just the sun shining through my bedroom window.

It was all a dream.
