Reflection;A Poem by Jinx BaneThe girl on my heels, matching my steps, following me around. The girl who cries soundlessly, the one who daydreams of better days. she has no friends. I don't know how to tell her that I hate her.
Here I stand,
knees wobbling, hands shaking. One, two, three; bald-up fists of pure momentum hit the solid floor. my younger sister pleading on the other side of the bathroom door. a silent scream sits comfortably on my tongue. Anger continues to well up in my eyes, Greeting me with blurry vision. I bare my teeth at the young women in the glass, that hangs apon the wall. I hate her. I hate her pitiful tears. The damned girl wont stop crying! Why cant she just give up, she'll never be good enough. One, two, Three; deep breaths. I look into her dead eyes, she holds my unyielding stare. A charming smile spreads across my face, tears roll down her cheeks onto her chin as she smiles back. She'll give up some day soon, but for now we are okay with pretending.
