Boogeyman

Boogeyman

A Poem by Kai Harmon

They say he sleeps under your bed
He waits in your closet and in your head
Haunting you and all your friends
The tormenting fear, it never ends

Crawling up the bedroom walls
You hear him lurking throughout the halls
Close your eyes before it’s too late
Or beware the most unforgiving fate

The children all fear and know his name
Praying they won’t fall victim to his game
Even the devil himself cowards in fear
When it’s known the boogeyman is near

So run if you can survive through the night
Don't you dare turn out the light
It's the only chance you've got to stay alive
For few have ever managed to survive

You cannot run you cannot hide
He’s already locked you inside
The depths of horror to his name
The very horror that brings even hell to shame
Ready or not he’s at your door
Craving to hear you scream once more
