CHAPTER 13: AN AWKWARD VISITATIONA Chapter by JimNOVEMBER 22, 1963 DALLAS, TEXAS
The red swirly portal spit Lee and Seth out behind a crowd. Thankfully, no one saw them. But, if you the reader read this chapter title, you know why this isn’t the greatest place for Lee to be. “Where are we?” Seth asked. “I think I know but I’m not too sure.” Lee answered. “Ooh, is that a parade?” Seth pointed to the crowd on the road. “I think I see a car driving by!” In fact, he did. He didn’t realize what he was seeing now, but he would later find out. They got closer, quietly. “Why is there a parade in your Travel History, Lee?” Seth asked, innocently. And then he found out. Three shots rang out. President John F. Kennedy is dead. “…that’s why.” Lee answered. Both of them stood awkwardly for a few, calmly watching everyone flip out and scream as if they weren’t fazed by what happened. Then, in unison, they turned, walked away, and went back to another point in time. © 2016 Jim |
