CHAPTER 4: TRACKING THROUGH TIME

CHAPTER 4: TRACKING THROUGH TIME

A Chapter by Jim

MARCH 17, 2185

TIME AGENCY HQ

Seth, Johnny, and Lee were now out in the main room of Time, the control room. There was a huge monitor on the wall with a dozen or so small monitors around the base of it. The three were at one of them. “All I have to do is track the watch,” Johnny said as he frantically typed on the computer, “and then we’ll have him.”

“How do we know where he is location-wise?” Seth asked. “Like ok, let’s say he goes to 1992. How do we know if he’s in Kentucky, Maryland, the freaking Arctic, etcetera?”

“Recently he’s gone to mainly big historical events. Depending on the event, it’ll be obvious the region he’s in, we then go and pinpoint his exact location. The last time we sent agents out, he went to April 1789, the month Washington swore in as President.”

“So, you knew he was in New York…”

“We just needed to go back and pinpoint where.”

“Which is where I just came from,” Lee cut in.

“Oh, I think I get it now.” said Seth.

Johnny got a stern, concerned look on his face. “Uh, guys…I don’t have a good feeling about this…” he said cautiously.

“What do you mean? Where did he go?” Lee asked.

Johnny turned around in the chair he was in. “January 30, 1945.”

            Lee’s heart sank just like Johnny’s. “You’re jo---Oh my Lord…”

“What, what’s wrong with January 30, 1945?” Seth asked, confused.

“The last speech of Hitler.” Johnny said.

            “The Holocaust.” added Lee.

Seth froze with them. “What could he want from there?”

“I don’t know, that’s why we have to hurry.” Johnny said as he swiftly got up from his seat and drifted to the rack with the time watches on it. He grabbed one for Seth, one for himself, and Lee still had his own. “We ready?”

            “I am,” said Lee.

            “Yes,” said Seth.

“Good.” Johnny said, as he punched the date in his time watch. When he clicked enter the red swirly portal appeared in front of them. Seth tensed up. He’s never done anything like this. He’s not a spy, he’s an actor mistaken as a spy. What if he messes up? What if he ruins and alters time forever? If it was for the better, he could deal with that. But for the worst? They were headed somewhere you don’t want to mess with ever, after all. One wrong move, what if more of the innocent human race gets killed? Seth was scared out of his mind.

He was also scared they’d find out his little “secret.” Tampering with time, freaking time, while pretending to be a trained spy whilst really being an actor from a critically acclaimed play…what would happen if they found out?

Johnny stood to the side and gestured to the other two, implying they can go first. Seth stepped in, followed by Lee. Johnny finished it off, then the portal started to close. Once it did, they were on their way to the darkest place in human history.

            The Holocaust.
