Happiness

Happiness

A Poem by Jillian Louise

I come to you in your thoughts,
I am the memories you haven't forgot.
I repair your despair as you sleep in the night,
My face appears so often to you and it shall never leave your sight.
I am the wind that softly grazes the tree tops,
You wish to feel me more and you hope it never stops.
I touch the waves and they taste so sweet,
I am the breeze that dries your skin as the water sweeps your feet.
My body is the air and my soul is the fire,
I am the chemicals in your brain that make you feel higher.
My shadow follows you throughout the brightest of days,
My figure is burned into the sidewalk by the sun's heavy rays.
I am the delicate fingers over your eyes,
Only to be lifted to reveal a beautiful and sweet surprise.
I fill up your lungs and help you to breathe,
I intensify your hopes and allow you to believe.
I have inspired in you courage and I've shown you love,
I am every beautiful thought you could ever think of.
There is one thing I feel so desperately I must confess,
If you're wondering who I am, I am happiness.

A wonderful concept. You think uniquely and that make your writing interesting.

I loved the twist at the end :)

I thought you were talking about a person, but then, how much of our happiness comes from that special person in our lives.

Lovely Piece.
