Seems more a realisation that nothing is quite as it seems, that vision can sometimes distort truth, tis only emotional purity that really wins in the end.
It's interesting to read your other reviewers' comments, how people see and analyse differently, less or more, pro or con; to me your words are always extraordinary, always make one think and feel.
"Shattered on the altar of clarity." Absolutely love this line!
This piece speaks to me of resilience, and its realization. When one experiences the darkest depths of human emotion, yet survives (the way you isolated the line "but did not break"), you discover an inner strength you never knew existed within you.
Great flow, vivid imagery, creativity, and I love its depth.
For me, this seemed like a moment of perceived truth. An experience that altered this young woman's view. More so, a shifting from innocence to experience. Although the nature of the poem, speaks of an awakening and transformation to consciousness to the perceived truth of how the world is through the eyes of the author.
But is it all despair? or is that simply a fraction or even a fracture to a larger picture. Our mind sees what it chooses, what are you looking for? :)
excellent write.. very thought provoking. thank you

If i had Do-overs …. i would spend my life making SPACES and PLACES that made me smile … and i would tell you it is first about LIGHT. then about character, ambiance, originality, SURPR.. more..
