hands

hands

A Poem by J

fingers spread on open window frost

      waiting

for

the cold goodbye

one tiny finger

      held wobbly still

alights wings of iridescent

      shimmer

Colours

known only to God

small hands

        to hold.

Delightful, chilly handprints illustrating the path to warmth and companionship.

Sometimes friends are inseperable, then other times good-bye seems to be hidden within each greeting.

Very nicely portrayed in verse and image-ination...

Such a delightful write, I found this inspiring really. There is nothing better than love from a childs hand. Amazing!

A child's hand is the warmest substance we know. Love the dance you choreograph here.

I can see the innocence throughout. The most effective part of the construction of your poem is its simplicity because it adds to the youngness and newness of the small hands. It's a beautiful poem with such a profound idea, but yet it tugs on the strings of the reader's heart with the "waiting for goodbye" feeling, and the ending is just as effective. you did a great job relating to the writer's sentiment.

I love the imagery in this piece! Never equated an icy window to a hand outspread, but it makes perfect sense now after reading this! Great work!
