Some Goodbyes

Some Goodbyes

A Poem by J

I was surprised

at my

           relief

when i finally deleted

  you

Because you see, as deeply

as you lived beneath dust and abeyance

    you still held your place

among memory markers

     firsts and lasts and

     . . . secret dreams

But

But as each of us set about life full forward

   without caution or

   regard

the World took its full measure of

       youth

       innocence . . .

and left

       hard-won lessons, pretty scars, and

       towering, sifting filters

And though i face each day

   hobbled

i can walk that long hill

my mind is still bright and

 my touch soft

And

And i [finally] find

i take exception to the way you treat me.

i thank the World for that.  and God.

Some goodbyes . . . i still wonder at the World

~ I cannot be as graceful in my review as the others so I'll just say with confidence: it is poetry like this that proves to me you deserve a place in my WC Hall Of Fame. Excellent writing J. ~

How is it that it takes a seeming eternity to say some goodbyes? By your own grace and insight you have the wisdom that eludes most of us, who drag ancient weights forever through life, they come to us in our dreams and waking moments at 3 in the morning. You keep on walking that sweet hill and meadow.

This beautiful sadness should be read and read

' .. you still held your place .., among memory markers ... firsts and lasts and ... secret dreams ..'

As beautiful a post as ever written by you, by anyone, in the Cafe, dear j''
Its sadness, near bewilderment, and - suspected more, is put so gently yet graphically. Seems the light on that horizon has opened its arms to your goodbye, knowing it has absolute intention.

You're so missed here..
