winter chillA Poem by JYesterday
winter coughed its final dying breath, I think on worn-down heels
and amended determinations
Had I not been dragging old news down the hill and around the corner I would’ve
missed it
That small bit of impudence -- one last orchestrated gesundheit as though to settle the argument
And he left me, you know as I held in my palm pieces I was sure would never
fit anyway like slivers of
mica in the dark; a crown upon my head
And I.Laughed.Instead.
Curious that. © 2013 JFeatured Review
