Your Loss

Your Loss

A Poem by Jennifer
"

This is for you about trying to understand your loss. It really needs read in a Belfast accent.

"
.

Like sisters, always sharing,
Evenings on the sofa staring,
At s**t tv, sex and the city,
Munch on takeaway, starvo like me.
Plenty of chat, there's an update on that,
The latest crush, he did what?!

Just like sisters, girl at my side,
Smoking dress, fills me with pride,
Out into the night, music's pinging.
What about him? Sure he's f****n mingin'.
Class tune, what a belter,
F**k here comes her! it's that melter.

Like sisters fight and cry then squeal,
We're just the same?
An even keel?
Then avalanche comes, how does it feel?
I just don't get it, is she for real?

How would it feel to lose a limb,
Towering presence gone; are you that dim?
Can't open your mind,
Can't glimpse the pain?
Of another's loss, it would drive you insane.

Just like sisters, only maybe not quite.
What you have felt, must be so so shite.
It didn't happen to me, the exquisite blow.
But I'm here for you, I hope you know.
