Melancholy find

It seemed so long ago
As if in days of yore.
Maybe it was a dream -
Just a dream: nothing more.
I feel your touch,
Such a sweet caress -
It soothes my soul
For a moment, not less.
I hear your voice
And your soft low laugh.
I wonder what chance
Brought you 'cross my path.
So alone every night,
I muse on the day
That God, in his wisdom,.
Sent you my way..
