Day's Quiet End

Day's Quiet End

A Poem by Jiggsy
"

Poem

"
At day's quiet end
There is but only silence ,
Save the sound of a seagull 's
Soft wings o'er dark expanse
Of red and yellow rays from the setting sun
Making lazy circles, slowly, one by one.
As I gaze into dark blue eyes,
Tis at this time, I realize -
That any hope for the future
Will take we two to nurture.
The ocean's rythmic lapping
Is soothing and still,
And in the cool of the night
I feel neither chill - nor thrill.

a little loneliness implied....as if the other is away, temporarily maybe.
kind of an apathetic ending...
there is a calmness to this write...and the imagery is engaging.

I think of a line Eddie said in Eddie and the Cruisers 2 about being in the desert where there was not a sound...but if you knew how to listen and what to listen for...you could hear the music...
i hear the music here.
