Dinosaur Lady

Dinosaur Lady

A Poem by Jibbs
"

Comparing a past love to a dinosaur.

"
Your swagger is EXTINCT.

But why?
You used to rule the world.

Others saw you walk by and they stopped and stared, that's all they could do. That's all I could do. The shy ones ran away, the intimidated hid, the lonely followed. Yet, you didn't know any of this because you were always looking ahead, always leading the way for others.

What happened?
When did your footprints stop and where did they end? I couldn't find them, nobody could. Did you give up?
That's so not like you.
You loved to live.

I could tell your bones were brittle by the way you stopped carrying your head so high.

I tell others about you but they do not believe me. I don't have pictures to prove you were real; just stories about your reign.

If I could design a museum to capture your swagger I would.
I'd have a room to showcase your heart.
I'd have a simulation sysytem so others could experience the way you made my heart beat.
I wouldn't even charge an entry fee because no amount of money can truly portray your swag.

Your buried yourself.
I will dig until I find the million pieces that made you, you. And no matter what anybody says, you were real to me.

I miss your swagger, and I miss you...
My Dinosaur Lady
