Light Like Love

Light Like Love

A Poem by Jas Alejandrino Ramos

Like the moon that glows

On how you made my heart glows

Like the stars that sparkle

On how you made my eyes sparkle

It’s the feeling of being enlightened

Being lighted up from the dark

Someone who’ll makes everything bright

Even in my darkest night

It’s the feeling of being urged to wake up everyday

Like the sunlight that shine on my face

Oh how you give a smile on my face

Now all my loneliness is without a trace

Like the sun that gives energy

On how you make me feel happy

Like the sun that gives heat

On how you give warmth to my coldest of days

It’s a feeling that glows

It’s the feeling of being in love

A special feeling for someone that is so pure,

That is light like love.

Understand the feelings. Been there myself. The poem itself needs a bit of a rewrite in quite a few places (for example - the first two lines). Perhaps some more depth to it all. Read "On Writing Love Poems". It is a piece I wrote awhile back explaining what I mean here. You can make this mediocre or magnificient depending on the text and thought that you decide to use in the piece. Make it roar not whimper. It is refering to a love of the ages and how it would make one feel, so make the reader believe it whole-heartedly. Whatever you do, keep on writing. It will get there.

A beautiful description of love. I like how you made love a powerful force in this poem. A very good ending to a excellent poem. Thank you.
