Alright With Me

Alright With Me

A Poem by Jas Alejandrino Ramos

Alright With Me

I’m like a child without a clue

Clueless of what you did to me

Like a thief in the night

That has stolen my heart

And I can’t control my eyes around you

It feels like war when I look at you

But it feels like heaven when you look at me

I say to start but you start to go

Now I’m on a run chasing you

I say you put your best foot forward

‘Cause here I am now

Running for your love,

Love that keeps my heart beating fast

Will you believe in what I said

Come next to me so that you can feel,

Feel that I’m falling for you

But will not fall on the floor

And will keep knocking on your door

‘Til you open your heart to me.

many impressive contradictions allow the reader to think and interpret themselves....a style I love...great job...

There are some very beautiful lines here, awakening the senses and talking straight to the heart.
It is a very well written and deeply sentimental piece, without doubt. I would only suggest a different ending, i.e the last 2 lines, perhaps something that is more dynamic and even more hyperreal (something that suits more to lines such as "Like a thief in the night" or "Now I'm on a run chasing you"...)

Hello Jhaszachery,

A romatic and elegant poem, I can only hope that the chase ended in your favor and the door was opened up to you. An excellent write, great read.

Regards,

Matthew

This poem is so relateable, as soon as I started reading it I began relating it to my own life which is always something I look for in poems. Written perfectly from the heart, you've explained how I feel as well as everyone else who can relate to this. Good job, keep it up!

I kinda agreed with Inner rain on that line. There's just so many damn writers who had done that before...
overall? this was okay, not bad.
I like the idea of one person determine to chase the love one...very touching, just could be added more..
keep up mate

I like the overall effect of the poem... But just one thing:
"Like a thief in the night" this phrase lacks some originality... I see this almost too often, try re-wording it, or rearrange the phrase in terms of grammar... Other than that... This is a good piece of work! Good job! :D
