Trap

Trap

A Poem by xDalliance

It's 3 a.m.

And the anxiousness is creeping up your shoulders

Tensing the muscles

Testing your resistance

Bunching around your throat

Constricting your breath

And you roll your shoulders

Stretching your body

Hoping to evade the tremors rocking your back

Slowly trying to reign it all in

As you feel your breath shorten

And your hands starting to quiver

With a force you reckon will shake the universe

If it ever left the cage that was you.

I can relate to this piece. You’ve portrayed the feeling quite well, nicely written.

fear wipes out the images of dreams slowly but surely and if we allow it we shall soon wallow in the midst of day after day after day without any expansion or testing of limits ...

you have portrayed this feeling very well - nice one X

Powerful words and thoughts led to a cage. It is sad, we imprison hope and dreams. People should be able to dream and accomplished great dreams and goals. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Great piece of writing, really thought-provoking.

"As you feel your breath shorten
And your hands starting to quiver
With a force you reckon will shake the universe
If it ever left the cage that was you." That is sheer brilliance!
