Misinterpretation

I'm really bad at giving titles so please forgive me. My poems are usually very descriptive and have a lot of metaphors but this one is fairly expressive and straightforward.

We'd been sitting there underneath that tree
I had so sadly misread your needs
They way you told me things about yourself
I always thought that you wanted me to be a part of them

You were talking about those girls when I'd mentioned
How they were so mad behind his attention
You told me then you didnt mind them, whatever they were
Staring into my eyes you said this how can i not feel sure forever?

I'd known that there i shouldn't expect
I already knew this was your nature's aspect
So friendly you were, shouldn't have thought so
That it was something else, when you clearly detested so
