The Lament of the Dead

The Lament of the Dead

A Poem by Jhada Addams

Singing through a silent sunset
they stare through trails of tears
nobody can help them, see them
listen to their fears

Long ago forgotten
the dead always remain
a silent, stoic memory
a painful, sharp refrain

Listen to our message!
They shout, but no-one hears
and cycles poisonous and red
continue through the years

Our children, now they run
they play and jump
and stab and kill

Static in the present - witness
their eyes are crying, still.

This is pretty good. Being dead sounds like hell, no one can hear you when you try to speak. I like this poem it is well done.
