Dawn Chorus

Dawn Chorus

A Poem by ElizaB

Beat of wings

Against the dawn,

Morning sings,

To night long gone.

Behind the pane

A stifled yawn,

Along the lane

Walk humans, drawn.

Days begin,

Like all before,

Fabric on skin,

The daily chore.

Mind in cloud,

Eye on phone,

Traffic loud,

Surrounded… alone.

Days end,

Like all before,

Messages send…

What is it for?

I’d rather be

Lost in cloud,

Beneath the sea,

With life aloud.

Gee
The daily grind, all of us oblivious to the beauty that surrounds. Work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep, and then the weekend. 2 days of living, 5 days of existing.
Enjoyed the read ElizaB

You've captured the essence of life today with a few brief words. We grind on everyday, now shackled to devices, and seem to ignore the bigger world. Yet, you take us into the clouds for a moment, and remind us to look up and out. Nice work!
