Fireflies

Fireflies

A Poem by ElizaB

Upon the forest floor
Fireflies dance in flame,
Our love, it is no more,
My heart was just a game,
Caught in your hand,
Gripped beneath leaves, Our names forces in sand...
Beneath this world of thieves
I never stood a chance.
I was a fool to believe
In magic and romance.

I have enjoyed reading a selection of your poems that I chose at random.
There is an underlying theme running through them of love/loss/unhappiness/sorrow, making them all the same but different, each one unique in its own way. I will read more.
