Black Eyed

Black Eyed

A Poem by ElizaB
"

Captivity and pollution

"
Trapped;
In waves,
In plastic,
In graves
Of glass,
So drastic,
This world destroy
The empty soul
Of girl and boy.
Faces pass,
Ribbons strewn
Into crests,
Figures loom.
As they glide,
Graceful, yet wide
Beneath the moon,
Beneath the light,
Black eyed;
Out of sight.
Leered upon;
Applause...
Bodies gone,
A lost cause...
Fins of ash,
Soon forgotten
For petty cash.
This money rotten.
Hear
The whales song;
The fear...
Held in dark
By man,
By bodies;
We've made our mark.
