Gambling my heart

Gambling my heart

A Poem by Donald Olds
"

it's a work in progress... please let me know what you think.

"

love is a gamble

but is never a game.

love is a gamble

a bet i'm willing to take

I give you my heart in hope it

don't break

love is a gamble

a game i've lost before

love is a gamble that

i don't know how much more i

can afford.

Love is such a simple word,

yet it means so much.

I give you my heart

for to you i entrust

Your first 4 lines already captured my attention o.o I really like how you compared love with gambling and gave all these examples~ (Sorry I'm not very good at literature words ^^) However I do find line 2 and line 8 a tad contradictory >.<

But really, the way you compared gambling and love using differences [not being a game] and similarities [a bet, having to afford it] makes it enjoyable to read and I nod my head in agreement as I go on XD
Love is indeed simple on the outside but deep on the inside :(

Good job! ^^
