Autumn EquinoxA Poem by JexFall, Reflection, Spirit, SeasonsIts that time of the year again. The weather begins to change. Pumpkin spice and sweet apple pie. Cozy sweaters around the fireplace. The worlds shift suddenly, oh so melancholy. A howling loneliness echos throughout the night. Children's laugher running about. The fallen memories which crunch around... Painting a lovely blend of honey yellow, Scarlet-Amber and Maroon, Oh! the many things they have heard and seen. The whisperings of the winds gather from far and wide. Whisking and weaving, Twisting and turning all throughout. Entangled and ensnared amongst the window still. The most powerful and mythical time approaches. Inbetween the sunset glow. The moons luminescent becomes the real star of the show. The nostalgia creeps in. With a heavenly glow. A time to reflec.t Oh! what a bittersweet road. Beware all the trickers and pranksters dancing about. Ensure to be cautious and careful. Listen for the reed pan flute. The only time really, where everyone gathers round. Either it be for love or to go to war. The time to wonder about the harvest, and hope for a humble abundance. There tends to be lots of laughter and tears. All muddled and mixed together. Hard to tell where one begins and one ends. But still breathtakingly beautiful anyway. Carpe Noctem! "Live tonight like there is no tomorrow". To Friends, To Foes, To Lovers, Even the Misfit. Cape Noctem! "Seize the Night". Get strong within the shadows and not only in the light. Make sure to pause and ponder to keep yourself sharp. Its easy to get lost in all the comforts or sorrows. A warm soothing hug flips to strangulation. Truly we are in a solstitial time. So cue up the old vintage music. Grab a blanket and hot drink to settle down. Take a deep breathe and know that one day soon, Everything can on day be okay. © 2023 Jex |
