Silent End

Silent End

A Poem by Julia M.

Oh so sweet the sleeping Rose,
As it lies in wait for the Rays it chose.

Do I dare make a whisper?

Silently the dew drips off her hardened leaf,
Petals telling of a gently folded grief.

Cracks in the stone let in a stream of light,
Though not enough to keep her spirit alight.

Layer by layer she softly closed,
So quietly a void had not been known.

These circumstances were not of her making,
Her strength couldn't keep the stem from breaking.

How much longer can she dwell in darkness,
She longed to thrive to no avail, hopeless.

Costant pain and heaviness start to bend,
Thoughts of relinquishing could be a peaceful end.

A poem filled with loneliness and sorrow. This rose tried to hang on, to find what it needed but in the end, faded and fell. Wonderfully written, the emotions were felt.
