Time For This

If you're certain that tomorrow
will change as yesterday
then you can journey timeless
throughout the future's past

If time keeps moving forward
even come what may
tomorrow's grief will borrow
begging 'now' to last

Certainly this moment
turns yesterday and gone
the future won't remember
how its shadows quickly cast

That means now is never
since now is certain past
tomorrow woke up bright today
and yesterday came fast

There is no far tomorrow
if past is still too new
curious the pendulum
should learn to multi-task?

Which means now time exists
as measurement, at best
of what else is surrounding
this forward moving task

A yardstick of achievement
A standard to enact
Time can tell the measured truth
of every human fact

Time discerns the distance
the lengths to which we go
Time unveils the mystery
as soon as proof can show

Time destroys the weaker
testing  what is strong
you wish that it would end
but you can't kill time for long

Time is not an object
is seen but not beheld
Time will not repeat it
but surely Time will tell

A scale of progress weighing
every deed and thought
calculated measurement
of what on Earth we've wrought

True, it waits for no man
Time stands still the same
certainly reflective of
progressive life-long game
